Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner (BSN-DNP)

Program Overview

The Doctor of Nursing Practice Family Nurse Practitioner track is a 75 credit hour program designed to train nurses at the highest level for the Family Nurse Practitioner role and the ability to sit for a national certification exam with the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. This mostly online program can be completed in nine semesters and incorporates 750 clinical hours in all populations (pediatrics, adolescents, adults, older adults). In addition, students complete a guided DNP Scholarly Project, and 500-600 additional clinical hours designed for project completion. Graduates are well positioned to assume roles in family practice, urgent care centers, some specialty practices, emergency departments and retail health. Students come to campus in Greenville for 3 days selected semesters to meet with faculty, interact with their classmates, and learn new skills to help them to be successful in their field.

As the medical field changes, having a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree is quickly becoming the standard for nurse practitioners. In addition to the rewarding work of being a primary care provider, you’ll receive excellent compensation. Average salaries range from $90,000 to $110,000.
