Program Overview

The Ph.D. in Leadership: Healthcare concentration empowers you to succeed as an adept leader in healthcare. This program will enhance your understanding of research methodology for understanding the current practices in leading organizationshelp you navigate organizational culture and change, and teach you industry-specific knowledge and trends. Your proficiency in these domains will help you stand out from your peers in healthcare and equip you to be a strong leader.

Graduates of this concentration often find themselves in fulfilling careers, with vocations in healthcare leadership consultation and coaching, public health leadership, and medical and health service management. What path will you follow as a healthcare leader?

Admission Requirements
Any master’s degree of 30 or more hours from a regionally accredited institution is required for acceptance into this program.
Official graduate transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program.

This program requires three professional references.
• Graduate Writing Sample:
Submit one of your former graduate-level essays (term paper, thesis, major project, etc.) that displays your writing ability.
• Statement of Purpose/Research Intent to include reasons for pursuing the Ph.D. in Leadership, including research interests and/or career goals & experiences shaping current research interests or career goals.

Why AU?

AU’s Ph.D. in Leadership, Healthcare concentration, focuses on preparing its graduates to be scholars while simultaneously developing their skills and competencies as leaders. Faculty teach from a Christian worldview, which provides an ethical and moral framework on which leadership principles are based. The research-based dissertation allows the student to leave the program with a publishable piece of research relative to the field of healthcare leadership. The program is competitively priced, and, at 48 semester hours, can be completed more quickly than other programs.
