Bachelor of Science (BS), Coding: Game Development

Program Overview

The Coding: Game Development program is a comprehensive program designed to give you a strong programming base with an emphasis on the design and development of modern video games. Courses in this program focus on understanding
basic and advanced coding design, storytelling, history of games and their importance in society, and the psychology
behind gaming.

Learning Outcomes:

• Analyze a complex computing problem and apply principles of computing identify solutions
• Analyze and evaluate games as well as their themes, mechanics, and other components
• Synthesize creative and technological perspectives, apply those principles to the development of games
• Acquire the necessary mastery of programming and the Unity engine to successfully build games
• Apply theoretical principles of game design and product development to the process of game creation
• Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal, ethical principles guided by a Christian worldview
• Apply computer science theory and software development fund

With your Coding: Game Development degree, you will be equipped to pursue a career as a game developer, software engineer, user experience (UX) designer, technical artist, or quality assurance (QA) tester. These roles cover many aspects of game design and require a deep understanding of both coding and art principles.

Certain courses within this program are offered online through a national consortium of accredited institutions.

Admission Requirements
No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.
Official high school or GED transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from their previous school.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.
