Bachelor of Science (BS), Kinesiology: Exercise Specialist

Program Overview

The Traditional Undergraduate Kinesiology: Exercise Specialist concentration will help you find a career exploring the science of human motion while helping others reach their physical potential. You’ll study sports and exercise psychology, advanced nutrition, strength and conditioning, exercise diagnosis and prescription, and you’ll have a practicum placement in nearby strength and conditioning departments. You’ll also receive training in soft skills, such as patient/clinic interaction and job interview etiquette. This major could lead to a career as a corporate wellness coordinator, sports performance specialist, personal trainer, senior center activities director, cardiac rehabilitation specialist, or clinic manager.

As a graduate from the Kinesiology: Exercise Specialist program you will be qualified for careers in conditioning, sports, nutrition, and corporate wellness. If you’re planning to start a career immediately upon graduation, starting salaries in this field for students who do not pursue graduate studies can range from $40,000-$60,000. If you want to pursue further education, graduates have gone into masters programs in Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition, Sports Science, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and more.

No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.

Two essays (prompts) or official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required during the application process.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.
