Program Overview

As a Photography student at Anderson University, you’ll learn current industry skills and best business practices. You’ll learn a wide range of techniques and approaches, such as using studio lighting, traditional darkroom, and exploring conceptual work. You’ll also gain real-world experience by working on projects for clients. You could have a career in any of these photography fields: editorial, portrait, wedding, commercial and product, or fine art photography. You’ll also be prepared to be an art or creative director.

No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.

Two essays (prompts) or official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required during the application process.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.

Why AU?
You’ll benefit from small class sizes, which provide opportunities for direct mentorship from our Art + Design faculty members. You will take classes on traditional methods and new, emerging technologies with an emphasis on commercial photography and business practices. As a Photography student, you can attend and participate in numerous exhibitions each semester. You’ll also have the chance to participate in study abroad trips that are centered around the history of art and design.
