With majors in Graphic Design, Art Education, 3D Studies, Photography, and Painting & Drawing, the Department of Art + Design can help you discover your options and define your creative path.
You’ll be guided by faculty artists and designers who are active in their respective fields. Our faculty includes Fulbright scholars, holders of prestigious arts fellowships and residencies, published authors, and artists who exhibit widely on regional, national, and international levels.
As a student, you’ll work with faculty in small studio classes focused on professional mentorship.
About the Art + Design Department
Whether your goal is to become a practicing artist, creative director, commercial photographer, museum professional, teacher, or pursue graduate study, our goal is for you to graduate with the highest standards of an arts education. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), our programs prioritize three areas of your educational experience:

Programs
As a student in art and design, you’ll be part of a dynamic and inspiring community. Our program regularly hosts visiting artists and designers, holds exhibitions, conduct workshops, collaborates on community projects, takes field trips, and studies art and design abroad. You’ll have opportunities to exhibit your work both on and off campus and tailor studio projects to your creative interests. You’ll study the history of art and design while making connections to the world outside the classroom. There’s never been a more exciting time to be in a creative field and part of a creative community. We certainly think so, and think you will too.
