Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), Leadership & Learning: Curriculum & Instructional Leadership

Program Overview

The Doctor of Education in Leadership and Learning: Curriculum and Instructional Leadership program is designed to prepare working professionals to lead, teach, and consult in the public and private sectors. You’ll be equipped with the highest level of scholarship and practical experience relevant to service in traditional public, private, and online education settings, as well in educational businesses, churches, or nonprofit organizations. This 48-credit hour concentration prepares you to lead curriculum development, innovative learning experiences, and instructional best practices. This program could lead to a career as an instructional coach, instructional coordinator, curriculum designer, or training development manager.

Transformative action: You will demonstrate how to apply leadership principles and lead change in organizationsInstructional excellence: You will articulate instructional theories supporting positive student outcomes, provide effective support and feedback to practitioners, and evaluate teacher effectiveness using a variety of valid and reliable measuresInnovative learning: You will describe research-based elements of effective innovative learning environments and how these environments can be dynamically adjusted to meet the needs of all learnersCritical change: You will identify and analyze critical issues of equality and diversity facing organizations to develop leadership recommendations Investigating contemporary issues: You will be able to identify current problems of practice, develop a design for analysis, and appropriate methodologies to conduct meaningful research in the field of educational leadership

A master’s degree is required to enroll in this program.
Official undergraduate and master’s transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program.

Three (3) or more years as a Pre-K-12 or postsecondary teacher and experience in a related educational role are required for enrollment in this program.

The application deadline is one (1) month/thirty (30) days before a term start date.
