Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), 21st Century Ministry

Program Overview

The Doctor of Ministry in 21st Century Ministry equips you with the vital knowledge to preach, teach, and serve in our current age. Pastors and church leaders need culturally relevant knowledge and strategies to engage people with the gospel. In this 35-credit-hour program, you’ll study leadership, church structure and ministry teams, discipleship, pastoral ministry, and evangelism. You will look at contemporary church examples, discuss generational change, and study modern communication tools. Your program includes hybrid and residential seminars, so you can choose to learn online or in the classroom. These seminars culminate in a significant project-based dissertation.

  • Evangelism in a Post-Christian World

Admission Requirements
A Theological degree (Master of Divinity, Master of Ministry, or equivalent) from an accredited seminary or graduate school of ministry is required to enroll in this program.
Official graduate transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program.
  • Master’s degree in Ministry or Divinity (or an equivalent degree) from a regionally accredited institution, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation completed by individuals familiar with your academic, vocational, and personal background. One recommendation should speak of your abilities as a minister.
  • A Ministry Resume that includes your places of employment, philosophy of ministry, and academic background. You should provide a link to a sermon (or a DVD if it is not available online) recorded at your local church.
  • An essay explaining your motivation for pursuing the degree and its potential impact on your ministry. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a ministry vocation. As an applicant, you should be serving in a ministry position that offers consistent preaching opportunities.
The application deadline is one (1) month before a term start date.
