Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), Leadership: Christian Ministry

Program Overview

The Ph.D. in Leadership: Christian Ministry concentration prepares you for the highest level of scholarship and performance in leading churches, denominational agencies, educational institutions or ministry organizations. You can build or advance your career as a pastor, professor, researcher, organizational leader, strategist, or leadership consultant. The program equips its graduates with the knowledge and methodological tools to conduct research on the pressing ministry leadership issues of the day.

Students in this concentration can engage in scholarship and research and develop professional competencies related to, organizational structures, leadership strategies, analyzing organizational culture, team and workplace culture development and leading organizational change.

Admission Requirements
A Master of Ministry or Master of Divinity (30+ credit hours) from a regionally accredited institution is required for acceptance into this program.
Official graduate transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program.

This program requires three professional references.
• Graduate Writing Sample:
Submit one of your former graduate-level essays (term paper, thesis, major project, etc.) that displays your writing ability.
• Statement of Purpose/Research Intent to include reasons for pursuing the Ph.D. in Leadership, including research interests and/or career goals & experiences shaping current research interests or career goals.

The application deadline is one (1) month before a term start date.
