Bachelor of Science (BS), Cybersecurity

Program Overview

As a Cybersecurity major, you’ll receive a comprehensive cybersecurity education, balanced between the technical side and risk management. You’ll learn technology and tools that are in demand in the marketplace, including Kali Linux, Wireshark, the Nmap security scanner, and the Python computer language. You’ll study topics like cloud security, cyber threat intelligence, disaster preparedness, digital forensics, and ethical hacking. You’ll also be prepared to earn professional certifications, including Security+ Plus and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Upon graduation, You’ll be equipped to pursue the following cybersecurity positions and fields: cybersecurity analyst, information security management, digital forensics, and cybersecurity.

As a cybersecurity major at Anderson University, You’ll learn technology and tools that are in demand in the marketplace. You’ll receive a comprehensive cybersecurity education, balanced between the technical side and risk management, which includes making sure computer systems are in compliance with the law. Your class will cover critical topics, such as cloud security, cyberthreat intelligence, disaster preparedness, digital forensics, and ethical hacking. Beyond your cybersecurity courses, You’ll take electives to deepen your knowledge in either computing (e.g. coding, analytics, database) or business (e.g. accounting, economics, management), depending on your career interests.

Today, companies hire Cybersecurity professionals in fields as diverse as finance, insurance, retail, healthcare, hospitality, information technology, consulting, transportation, manufacturing, law enforcement, public utilities, government, defense, and more. In addition to careers in cybersecurity, this program of study prepares students to pass professional certification exams as well as earn acceptance into graduate school for those planning to continue their education.

Admission Requirements
No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.
Official high school or GED transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from their previous school.

Two essays (prompts) or official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required during the application process.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.
