Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB), Computing & Data Analytics

Program Overview

The Computing and Data Analytics program strikes a balance between training you to be a software developer and equipping you with extensive data analytics training. You will learn about programming, telecommunications and networking, database design, software development, data mining, machine learning, visualization techniques, predictive modeling, and statistics. You’ll also have a granular understanding of JAVA and Python, as well as expertise in Python tools and libraries, such as PANDIS and scikit-learn. Your degree will enable you to help companies strengthen their software and leverage their data.

The Computing and Data Analytics program strikes a balance between training you to be a software developer and equipping you with extensive data analytics training. Companies will see you as an asset because of your ability to understand the practical side of software and analysis. You can provide your expertise to answer the following questions for a company looking for solutions: How can the increase their efficiency through software?How can the build a software platform that meets their employees’ and customers’ needs?What can you do to remedy the gaps in the company’s understanding of their data?What type of data analysis will help a fledgling startup find the right customers at the right time?

You will leave Anderson University well-versed in the overarching principles of software and data software. At the same time, you’ll be an attractive candidate for data analyst positions because your software development and analysis skills are the combination companies want. You’ll be qualified as a software developer, computer systems analyst, systems analyst, database administrator, and operations research analyst.

Two essays (prompts) or official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required during the application process.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.
