The South Carolina School of the Arts

Bachelor of Music (BM), Performance

Program Overview

The Performance degree will equip you to become a performing artist and create your own teaching studio. This is an intensive study in individual and ensemble performance, pedagogy, music business and entrepreneurship, and hands-on training in conducting and music technology. You’ll hone your craft under the guidance of our expert faculty and specialize in voice, piano, or instrumental music. A pedagogy track is also available if you want to teach and mentor future musicians. This program could lead to a career as a musician or singer, music director or composer, sound engineer, high school music teacher, music therapist, or entertainer.

The global music industry is a $20 billion business. Anderson University students have found careers as songwriters or composers in Nashville, TN; opened their own recording studios; or served as piano accompanists. The doors are open to many careers in the music industry with a Music Performance degree.
