The South Carolina School of the Arts

Bachelor of Arts (BA), Theatre: Design

Program Overview

The Theatre: Design concentration provides a well-rounded education that leads to professional work or advanced degrees in theatre design. Students may choose a design specialty, but are trained in each of the design areas—lighting, costume, and scenery. Employers seek professionals who are dependable, loyal, and disciplined—all traits of our theatrical design students. You’ll learn how to work collaboratively as part of a team, work under pressure, hone your leadership skills, and exhibit self-discipline and initiative. After graduation, you could pursue a career as a set and exhibit designer, art director, lighting technician, costume designer, or producer/director.
