The South Carolina School of the Arts

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Musical Theatre

Program Overview

The Musical Theatre program will train you to be a proficient singer, actor, and dancer. This program is unique because it is faith-based and innovative. You’ll join a community of like-minded artists who will challenge and mentor you. You’ll study advanced acting techniques, specifically in musical theatre performance; learn music theory and four styles of dance; how to market yourself, and how to obtain an agent. Before graduation, you’ll have the opportunity to perform in a showcase for talent agents and casting directors during our week-long capstone symposium in New York City. You’ll be prepared for a career as a stage performer, a choreographer or director, as a high school drama teacher, or for graduate study.
