Anderson University Leadership Professor Dr. Chris Rappazini recently published his book, Moving Forward After Messing Up: A New Future with the God of Second Chances, with Moody Publishers.

To promote his book, Dr. Rappazini, who is associate professor of leadership at the Anderson University Center for Leadership and Organizations, has appeared on more than two dozen radio shows and podcasts. He has also appeared on Christian news shows nationwide, including Building Relationships with Gary Chapman, In the Market with Janet Parshall and Chris Fabry Live.

“My brother inspired me to write this book, but not necessarily in the way one might think,” he said. “We hadn’t been on speaking terms for years. When I finally reached out to inform him of a death in the family, I discovered he had recently been arrested. My brother is a recovering alcoholic and drug user. As I began trying to walk that journey with him in and out of court dates and through various recovery centers, I realized the need for a book that helps not only those who have messed up publicly, like my brother but also those who have messed up privately, like myself.”

Dr. Rappazini dedicated his book to anyone on that journey or walking it with a loved one.

“My hope is that with the God of Second Chances, they can turn their setback into a comeback and their mess into a powerful message,” he said. “I wrote the book to be used both individually and in groups. Along with the leader’s discussion guide, there are reflection and discussion questions at the end of each chapter. The hope is that the book can be used in recovery centers, prisons, and church groups because one of the first steps in moving forward after messing up is to engage with a support group that can encourage you, offer guidance, and provide wisdom every step of the way.”

Moving Forward After Messing Up: A New Future with the God of Second Chances is currently available for purchase through Moody Publishers. It can also be found on Amazon and other online outlets.
