Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB), Human Resource Management

Program Overview

The Human Resource Management program was designed in alignment with the Society for Human Resource Management standards, so it prepares students to take the Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) Certification exam and the Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR) exam. The Human Resource Management (HRM) major provides specialized courses in Employment Law, Staffing, Training and Development, Compensation and Benefits, and Performance Management. There is always a need for people who understand HR in organizations; job outlook is better than average and HR is at the heart of every organization.

As a student in this program, you will graduate with the understanding of how organizations operate financially and employ a human capital perspective; how to engage consumers; how to formulate and implement strategy; how to apply leadership principles; how to develop teams and groups; and how to coach, mentor, and engage in career development. You will be thoroughly prepared for a certification in Human Resources.

When you graduate from the human resources program, you will have the knowledge and skills needed to enter careers such as talent management, employee relations, organizational design, strategic planning, labor law, data analytics, employee assistance and counseling, community relations, and so much more. You’ll also be prepared to pursue higher degrees such as a Master of Business Administration, Master of Organizational Leadership, Master of Human Resources, Master of Industrial Organizational Psychology, Master of Human Resources Development, and other degrees in law and healthcare.

No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.
Official high school or GED transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from their previous school.

Two essays (prompts) or official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required during the application process.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.
