Program Overview

The Mathematics and Engineering program prepares you for success in any field that requires high-level quantitative thinking and engineering skills. You’ll learn how to generate mathematical proofs, use advanced technology, create software, and think and write quantitatively. Upon graduating, you could pursue a career as a mechanical engineer, STEM educator, an electrical engineer, or a quantitative analyst. At Anderson University, you’ll receive the instruction you need to master complex mathematical concepts, which will deepen your understanding of engineering. Program Education Outcomes. As a Mathematics and Engineering student you will be prepared for a wide range of careers including actuary, data analyst, operations research analyst, teacher, or engineering in your chosen engineering discipline. You will graduate with a BS in Mathematics and a BS in Engineering and depending on what career path you choose, the starting salary can range from $45,000 to $90,000. If you choose to attend graduate school instead of going directly into the workforce, possible graduate programs include degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Engineering programs.

Admission Requirements
No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.
Official high school or GED transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from their previous school.

Two essays (prompts) or official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required during the application process.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.

Why AU?
The Mathematics and Engineering program is unique as it is a collaborative program between Anderson University and Clemson University. You will complete your first three years at AU before completing your final two years at Clemson. When you graduate you will have a degree from each school. This dual degree program prepares you for a wide range of career opportunities in the mathematics and engineering fields. While you are at AU you will learn mathematics, physics, and engineering through classroom and one-on-one mentorship experiences with faculty members who are experienced and active in the engineering field.
