The South Carolina School of the Arts

Bachelor of Arts (BA), Music

Program Overview

The Music program deepens your musical understanding and hones your skills, with a strong core of music theory, history, and individual and ensemble performance. In the Music program, you’ll select a minor so you can tailor your music degree to fit your interests or prepare for a career that combines music with other disciplines. Upon graduation, you’ll be equipped to work as a performing musician, music director or composer, music therapist, sound technician, worship pastor, or entertainer. You can also pursue a second major or prepare for graduate study in fields from music ministry to music therapy.

Many of our graduates now perform, conduct, and teach in higher education. Successful music ministers and worship leaders at a wide range of churches have studied at AU. Other graduates have built successful careers as performers in commercial music. Our program’s flexibility also allows you to pursue additional studies and careers in fields such as business, ministry, and education.

AU has joined Common App, a powerful online college application platform, to help streamline the application process!
