Academic Background
Dr. Marie Amma has served on Anderson University’s nursing faculty for eight years. Her academic background includes teaching at a major state university in Southwest Florida and a private institution before joining Anderson. Dr. Amma views her transition to Anderson, South Carolina as divinely guided—what she refers to as a “God wink.”

Fast Facts
My first impression, I moved from here different state, the oak trees, lush green grass, and red brick buildings! More importantly was the people inside that building, so welcoming, eager to share and reflect Gods presence.
There are so many opportunities in nursing, way beyond what you might even think. There’s an opportunity to become whatever type of nurse, in any chosen area they want. The nursing education faculty are here to help make that happen.
The students! They are respectful, have great humor, and truly want to learn!
My love and specialty for all my years at the bedside was intensive care patients. Primarily surgical; to include organ transplant patients, and trauma. My practice day is caring for Home hospice patients, this truly is a blessing!
