Engineers Week began with a Dine and Learn February 19 in the Vandiver Gallery of Thrift Library, an evening of dinner and getting to know the AU Engineering Faculty while learning about research and other learning opportunities.

On February 20, the Anderson University College of Engineering Advisory Board had their inaugural meeting to discuss the current state of the college. Advisory Board members were pleased with the report and offered ideas for future events for AU’s Engineering students.

On February 21, a Mini Career Fair gave students an opportunity to meet representatives from The College of Engineering’s local industry partners to discuss available engineering career opportunities. According to Assistant to the Dean of the College of Engineering Ann Stoddard, since the College of Engineering has no seniors yet in the traditional four-year majors, the focus of this career fair was internships, mock interviews, résumé reviews and professional skills in general.

On February 22, there was a drop in at Springdale, the current location of the College of Engineering, featuring a chance to grab a donut or a bagel while enjoying conversation with engineering professors.

Engineering Week wrapped up February 23 with the Engineering Club welcoming guest speaker Steve Dapper, advanced project manager of Procter and Gamble, producer of major brands that include Tide Detergent, Old Spice deodorant and Oral B tooth care products. Dapper talked with students about project management and connecting faith to professional endeavors.
