The South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University trains professional visual, musical and theatrical artists who are serious about both their art and Christian faith. Staffed by highly trained and world-class artists, musicians, actors, dancers, theatrical designers, and scholars, we mentor students to develop their artistry to its fullest potential so they may thrive professionally and serve others through the arts.
Our Degree Programs
We offer Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Education degrees with majors and concentrations in graphic design, painting and drawing, graphic design, ceramics, art education, musical theatre, theatrical design, acting and directing, dance, worship leadership, music education, and vocal, keyboard and instrumental performance.
What We Believe
We believe that intense, transformative mentorship inspires this generation of artists to develop their creative talents to their fullest potential. We also coach students to identify and value how their skills can be applied in the career they envision as well as in related fields. Our professors—from recording musicians to sought-after art directors—represent the highest level of artistic achievement, and they want to show students how they can get there too. With majors in Art Education, Ceramics, Graphic Design and Painting & Drawing, the Department of Art and Design at The South Carolina School of the Arts can help you discover your options and define your path.

Music
Your professors will be musicians and scholars who are active in the music profession at the regional, national and international levels, who’ve studied at prestigious universities including the University of Miami and the Eastman School of Music, and have performed, conducted and presented clinics at prestigious venues such as the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.

Theatre & Dance
The South Carolina School of the Arts offers a variety of courses of study in theatre and dance: BFA in Musical Theatre; BFA in Acting; BA in Theatre; BA in Dance; and a concentration in Theatrical Design.
