There are no substantive changes to Anderson University operations following South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster’s order to close public K-12 schools, community and technical colleges, and public universities through at least March 31.
Previously, on March 11, Anderson University President Evans P. Whitaker, in consultation with the Anderson University COVID-19 task force, announced a suspension of all undergraduate seated and hybrid classes through March 22 to give faculty and staff time to prepare for online delivery of coursework and to prevent the potential spread of the disease.
In light of the changing circumstances, we have made further adjustments to our online teaching calendar, which now includes all graduate programs:
- All online courses – undergraduate and graduate – will continue to run as scheduled, according to our academic calendar.
- For the week beginning Monday, March 16, undergraduate seated and hybrid courses are suspended and will not meet.
- For at least two weeks, beginning Monday, March 23 through Friday, April 3, all undergraduate courses will be delivered online.
- Effective immediately, at least through Friday, April 3, all graduate courses will be delivered online.
Again, this is a rapidly evolving public health emergency, and circumstances are subject to change, including any extension of in-person or hybrid class suspension that may become necessary. We continue to appreciate your patience and understanding as we collectively address the complexity the COVID-19 pandemic has thrust upon everyone.
If you do not have to be on campus next week for activities such as clinicals, research, internships, employment on or off campus, and other academic purposes, please observe the best practice of staying off campus.Further, and as a reminder, the following guidelines have been established by the Anderson University COVID-19 task force, utilizing the best information available from federal, state, and local public health agencies including the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
If you have traveled internationally over the past 14 days; traveled on a cruise ship for the last 14 days; have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19; or have visited any area with a widespread outbreak of COVID-19, you should not come to campus for at least 14 days. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever greater than 100 degrees; are coughing; or have shortness of breath), you should contact your medical service provider immediately and stay away from campus.

To date, there are no known cases of COVID-19 on the Anderson University campus.
