On October 2, Anderson University College of Business and Economics hosted their annual Fall Networking Event. A record of 52 Companies attended the event, which took place in Abney Gym on the AU campus. This included eight new companies. Approximately 15 alumni represented their current companies. A total of 119 students attended the event.
A record number of companies are still seeking to recruit Anderson’s College of Business and Economics students. The COBE required Internship Program is helping them build their employee pipeline. According to COBE Director of Experiential Education Kristy Williamson, internships significantly enhance students’ chances of gaining employment. Internships also deliver substantial long-term value to employers, who retain more than three-quarters of former interns after one year and more than half after five years.
Williamson adds that, consistent with Anderson University’s pillar of great academics, students consistently possess the character qualities for companies looking for teachable, humble team players with a well-developed work ethic.
