Judine Somerville

Judine Somerville is the recipient of the Stephen A. Goldberg Award, the F. Lammot Belin Arts Scholarship, and the Legacy Robe Honor, awarded to the ensemble member who has performed in the most Broadway musicals. 

She has performed in five original Broadway musicals, including the eight-time Tony-Award winning Musical HAIRSPRAY, where she was part of the original singing trio sensation The Dynamites. Judine also reprised her role for NBC’s HAIRSPRAYLIVE directed by Kenny Leon and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell. Including cast members: Harvey Fierstein, Martin Short, Jennifer Hudson, Kristin Chenoweth, Ariana Grande, Dove Cameron, Sean Hayes and Rosie O’Donnell. 

Judine is a former Rockette at Radio City Music Hall, and is an accomplished Musical Theatre performer with an impressive list of credits. A Motivational Speaker Dance Fitness Leader she is invited to speak around the world at Educational & Wellness Conferences as well as family & woman organizations.

She was the Assistant Choreographer to Otis Sallid on the Fox Searchlight Movie Musical, Black Nativity Starring Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige and introducing Jacob Lattimore. She can be seen in the film Malcolm X, choreographed by Otis Sallid & Directed by Spike Lee. Also, Jack of the Red Hearts Directed by Janet Grillo.

Other Broadway credits include: ON THE TOWN, THE LIFE,  CRAZY FOR YOU,  and  LATE NITE COMIC. National Tours: Barry Manilow’s COPACABANA and  Jekyll and Hyde. Television appearances include: MTV’S ..MADE, THE TODAY SHOW, THE VIEW, JUDGE HATCHETT, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, THE CBS EARLY  SHOW, THE TONIGHT SHOW with JAY LENO, THE ROSIE O’DONNELL SHOW, LATE  NITE with DAVID LETTERMAN, LATE NITE with CONAN O’BRIEN, THE VH1 AWARDS,  THE RICKI LAKE SHOW, THE TONY AWARDS, THE JERRY LEWIS TELETHON, THE  MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE, and THE NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE.
