Fast Facts

My classes are hands-on, practical, and centered on applying engineering concepts to real-world problems. I want students to understand not only how to solve a problem, but why the solution works and how an engineer would use it in practice. I frequently draw on my industry experience in manufacturing, design, and engineering leadership to connect classroom theory with decisions engineers make every day. Students can except to work through problems together, ask questions, analyze real examples, and learn how to think like engineers, not simply memorize formulas.

I teach at Anderson University because I enjoy helping students bridge the gap between what they learn in the classroom and what they will experience as practicing engineers. My industry background allows me to bring real-world examples, challenges, and expectations into the classroom. I especially enjoy mentoring students, helping them grown in confidence as engineers, and contributing to to growing engineering program with strong connections to industry.

I wish prospective students understood how broad and diverse engineering careers really are. Engineering is much more than solving equations or designing parts; it involves problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, communication, manufacturing, automation, process improvement, project leadership, and making decisions that affect real products and people. There is no single career path for an engineer, and students can build careers that are highly technical, hands-on, managerial, or a combination of all three. On e of the most valuable things students can develop is the ability to think critically, adapt, and apply what they know to problems they have never seen before.

I bring more then a decade of leadership experience in advanced manufacturing and engineering, with expertise in manufacturing improvement, Lean Six Sigma, automation, and technical leadership. My doctoral research examined leadership behaviors that support successful Six Sigma implementation. I was recognized as the 2024 Distinguished Business Partner of the Year by Anderson Institute of Technology for my support of engineering and advanced manufacturing education and continue to work closely with industry to strengthen hands on engineering education and workforce development.

I most enjoy the opportunity to work closely with students and watch them develop confidence as engineers. It is rewarding to connect classroom concepts with real-world engineering and manufacturing challenges and see those concepts begin to click. I also value the opportunity to mentor students, help prepare them for their careers, and contribute to the continued growth of engineering at AU.
