Academic Background
Dr. Chuck Fuller is Associate Professor of Christian Studies and Director of the Honors Program. A native of Kentucky, he joined AU’s faculty in 2010 after spending several years in pastoral ministry. In addition to teaching courses in preaching and apologetics, Dr. Fuller enjoys working with students from all majors in the Honors Program. Humans have big questions–questions about God, the world, and themselves–and helping students think through their questions is Dr. Fuller’s main motive for teaching.

The idea of a university fascinates me, and a Christian university invigorates me. Here, the various disciplines can flourish and support each other as truth is grounded in Him who is Truth–the Lord Jesus.
Homiletics isn’t merely about learning to preach. It requires a deep grasp of the way words form worlds, skills related to interpreting ancient texts, a keen understanding of the human condition, and a commitment to marshal the powers of language to convey the hope of the gospel of Jesus.

Working with students who are eager to search out questions related to God, the world, and humanity gives me joy, as does working alongside colleagues who teach me much more than I could ever learn on my own.
