President's Letter

Academically Excellent. Faith-filled. Hospitable. Purpose-driven.

The pillars on which Anderson University was built defines our institution and guides how we provide knowledge for our students’ journey.

To be sure, college must be about gaining the knowledge you need to be successful in your career, graduate school, and in life, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and that means it should also be energizing, exciting, refreshing, and—dare I say it—fun.

Without a doubt, Anderson’s combination of quality and affordability in an intentionally Christian environment make it a rare find in American higher education. That’s not just a marketing claim; it’s a fact. Anderson’s been rigorously judged by objective external evaluators as one of America’s 100 Best College Buys.  And that’s not all.

U.S. News & World Report ranked AU as one of the top Regional Universities in the South in its 2020 edition of Best Colleges. The survey also ranked Anderson as a Best Value School among Regional Universities in the South—an important distinction that compares cost with quality.

Innovation is a hallmark of the Anderson University experience as well. Among regional universities in the south, U.S. News & World Report ranks Anderson as the No. 19 “Most Innovative” school. Moreover, U.S. News & World Report in its 2020 ranking of the “Best Online Programs” in the country listed Anderson University’s online bachelors programs as the best among private institutions in South Carolina, along with awarding top honors nationally for AU’s online graduate programs in business, education, criminal justice and nursing.

Anderson has a century-long tradition of academic excellence with more than 95 majors and concentrations and 17 master’s and doctoral programs. Yes, this is an exhilarating academic community bursting at the seams with intellectual activity, informed and creative teaching, and service to humanity, and we’re always looking for qualified students to join us.

Here, you’ll receive a faith-based educational experience at one of the South’s leading Christian universities. You’ll find rigorous academics with unparalleled personal attention and a great student life program—all in an incredibly friendly, civil, and wholesome environment. In fact, the Wall Street Journal recently named Anderson #27 for best student engagement among all universities in the United States.

Search our website and learn about our academic, student life, athletic, and campus ministry programs. Better yet, visit the campus! There’s nothing quite like seeing the beauty and energy of this place.

You can visit with other high school students on one of our special Saturday First Glance days. For a closer look, choose our overnight All Access and stay overnight with our students in the residence halls and attend classes the next day. Or, for your own private tour, contact our Office of Admission.

Take a close look at Anderson. You’ll be glad you did. We hope to see you on campus soon!

Warmly,
