Program Overview

As a Mechanical Engineering student you will learn to apply a physical understanding of the world to solve problems across a wide variety of domains, including static and dynamic mechanical systems, thermal and fluid systems, and mechatronics. You will also learn to apply concepts related to the behavior and motion of physical objects to the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. This field nurtures critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to put scientific principles into practice. By pursuing mechanical engineering, you have the opportunity to make a positive impact on society by creating solutions that enhance productivity, quality of life, and environmental sustainability. As a Mechanical Engineering student you will be prepared for a wide range of careers including mechanical engineer, manufacturing engineer, mechatronics engineer, product design engineer, and product manager. Starting salaries for candidates with a Bachelor of Science in degree range from $60,000 to $90,000. If you choose to attend graduate school instead of going directly into the workforce, possible graduate programs include degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Engineering Management, and Robotics.

Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.
