Freshmen Orientation and Celebrations

As part of  our Mentor-Mentee program, our freshmen and sophomores partner for a Brunch and Bingo event.

The AU Freshman Orientation Week provides opportunities for our freshmen Teaching Fellows to become acclimated to our campus and the Teaching Fellows program at AU.  Before our freshmen Teaching Fellows arrive, partnerships with the Anderson University Welcome Week coordinators have established opportunities that will allow all freshmen to participate in Teaching Fellow events and the campus activities.

After move-in on Saturday each year, a two-hour breakfast orientation where the freshmen meet their sophomore mentors provides a relaxed atmosphere for the face-to-face time together.  In addition, advisory council members join the group.   After breakfast, freshmen attend training on requirements by CERRA, Anderson University, and the AU Teaching Fellows.

All Anderson University Teaching Fellows are invited to join together for a worship service at Concord Baptist Church in Anderson the Sunday after move-in.  Freshmen and sophomore Teaching Fellows arrive by Anderson University vans as they continue mentoring opportunities while the junior and senior Teaching Fellows arrive by car.  This is an extended invitation to the Teaching Fellows, and each year it is amazing to note the participation.  Because a few Teaching Fellows serve in their local churches, they may not be able to attend; however, attendance is 97% annually.
