Spring has officially arrived and what better way to celebrate the new season than by making the most of everything Anderson University and the community of Anderson has to offer! As the weather warms up and flowers begin to bloom, make sure to take advantage of these super fun activities to fully embrace spring!
1. Celebrate A Day with the AU Family
If you haven’t experienced A Day yet, you’re in for a treat! A Day is on April 3rd, and is one of AU’s biggest and most exciting traditions! Students, alumni, and faculty all come together for a day full of fun, food, and campus pride. This year, there will be a community paint-by-number mural for everyone to create together. Whether you’re joining in on the activities, hanging out with friends, or just enjoying the lively atmosphere, A Day is an absolute must this spring.

2. Soak Up the Fun During Spring Fever Week
Spring Fever Week is hands-down one of the best weeks of the semester! This week will take place in early April and is a super fun way to help the campus community beat cabin fever while enjoying the beautiful South Carolina spring weather! It’s packed with tons of exciting events such as the Spring Fling Dance and the Spring Fest Music Festival all week long.
3. Get Fancy for the President’s Gala
It’s not every day you get to dress up all fancy and attend a formal event, so why not go all out?! The President’s Gala will be April 11 and 12, and is your chance to enjoy a glamorous night with amazing performances and even better company. Grab some friends and get dinner downtown before the event. Whether you’re going alone, with a date, or a group of friends, this is one event you won’t want to miss! 4. Experience The Soirée in Downtown Anderson
Spring in Anderson isn’t complete without The Soirée. This downtown festival is full of live music, arts, food vendors, and all the small-town charm that makes Anderson feel like home. Spend the day strolling through the streets of Downtown Anderson, check out local artists, dig into some amazing food, and enjoy the vibrant community vibe!

5. Visit Inman’s Stunning Peony Fields
Spring is all about fresh starts and beautiful blooming flowers, so why not take a day trip to see the stunning peony fields in Inman, SC? It’s the perfect spot for a photoshoot, a peaceful escape from the stress of school, or just a fun adventure with friends. Nothing says spring like being surrounded by gorgeous flowers and fresh air.

6. Cheer on the Trojans
AU athletics are in full swing during the spring, and it’s the perfect time for you to support teams that you may not have watched before. Whether it’s lacrosse, softball, baseball, or another spring sport, grab some friends and head to a game—you might just find a new favorite sport to cheer for! 7. Study on the Front Lawn
Let’s be real, studying inside when the weather is so perfect outside is just wrong. Grab a blanket, your favorite fun drink from Books & Beans, and spread out on the Front Lawn for the ultimate study session. With the sunshine, a light breeze, and good company, studying might actually be enjoyable for once!
8. Grab Ice Cream in Downtown Anderson
After a long day of classes or a fun day out and about, nothing beats a scoop (or two) of ice cream. Head downtown to one of Anderson’s local ice cream shops and treat yourself. Whether you’re into classic flavors or something totally unique, it’s the perfect way to top off a spring day. 9. Front Lawn Fun
The front lawn isn’t just for studying, it’s also the perfect place to hang out and have fun with friends! Grab a frisbee, set up a game of spike ball, or toss a football around—whatever gets you moving and making lifelong memories. With the sun shining and a cool breeze in the air, the lawn is a great place to play a game, relax on a blanket, or just enjoy the fresh air.

Take advantage of the weather warming up by getting on water at Lake Hartwell! Spring is the perfect time to visit Clemson’s Botanical Gardens! Just a short drive from Anderson, this spot is great for a relaxing day trip, a mini photoshoot, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature in full bloom.
13. Watch the Sunset at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center
End your day on a peaceful note by catching a breathtaking sunset at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center. With open fields, walking trails, and a lake reflecting the beautiful shades of the orange and pink sky, it’s a perfect spot to unwind, take pictures, or just sit and enjoy the view with friends.
14. Go on a Coffee Shop Crawl
Anderson has some awesome local coffee spots, so why not make a fun day of it? Grab your friends and go on a coffee shop crawl! Try different drinks at places like The Common House, Bradbury Bistro, eCity Java, and Figs Cafe. Whether you’re in the mood for an iced latte, a chai, or a classic drip coffee, this is a fun (and caffeinated) way to explore the town.
