Program Overview

The Cybersecurity and Criminal Justice program combines the digital world with the principles of law enforcement and investigation. It prepares you to enter a myriad of cybersecurity careers where you can be at the leading edge of protecting individuals, cities, states, and countries. You’ll take courses like Constitutional Law, Digital Forensics, and Ethical Hacking. You’ll get to use a dedicated cybersecurity lab and have a cybersecurity advisory board of industry experts to mentor you. This major could lead to a career as a cybersecurity analyst, information security management, digital forensics, or cybersecurity advisor.

In this program, You’ll learn how to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of computer systems while examining the foundations of the criminal justice system and its component parts. You’ll take courses in digital forensics, ethical hacking, contingency planning, cyber threat intelligence, cryptography, risk management, police systems, criminal law, investigations, judicial systems, constitutional law, and more.

Industries ranging from banking to energy to national security are looking for well-trained graduates to join their ranks in protecting the security of your fellow men and women around the world. You can work in a variety of organizations that hire cybersecurity professionals. Other industries that hire cybersecurity pros include finance, retail, healthcare, criminal investigations, military/defense, technology, public utilities, consulting, and many others.

Today, government agencies at all levels are expanding their cybersecurity, digital forensics, and cybercrime units. Likewise, many businesses are expanding cybersecurity teams including those in industries such as finance, insurance, healthcare, security consulting, utilities, and military/defense. Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.
