Bachelor of Arts (BA), Christian Studies: Preaching

Program Overview

The Christian Studies: Preaching program equips you to enter the pulpit prepared to give a congregation a well-studied, well-organized, and powerful sermon that honors the Word of God. Anderson University is uniquely suited to help you through your preaching journey because of our experienced faculty and extensive training. As a student in the preaching concentration, you also have the incredible opportunity to serve as a volunteer at the National Conference on Preaching. When you graduate, you’ll have the skills necessary to preach in a powerful and effective way in the role of pastor, hospital chaplain, or campus pastor.

When you leave Anderson University, you’ll have the skill set to preach in a powerful and effective way. Churches need strong preachers. Congregations need to hear sound teaching. You can meet those needs.

Admission Requirements
No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.
Official high school or GED transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from their previous school.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.

AU is uniquely suited to help you through your preaching journey. Experienced Faculty Anderson’s preaching faculty is among the strongest in the nation. The team of professors guiding you has three preaching Ph.D.s among them, as well as decades of experience preaching from pulpits across the country. Extensive Training While most seminary students take one or two courses on preaching, you’ll take three. These courses teach you the importance of exegetical process, sound hermeneutics, using the right illustration at the right time, and honing your public speaking skills.
