After earning its 24th straight regular-season conference victory over the weekend, the Anderson women’s basketball team climbed to 14th in the latest USA Today Sports NCAA Division II Top-25 Coaches Poll and continues to receive votes in the Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, as released Jan. 12.

Anderson, which improved to 10-1 overall and remained atop the South Atlantic Conference standings with a perfect 8-0 record with two wins last week, was 15th in last week’s Women’s Basketball Coaches (WBCA) Poll.

The Trojans jumped one spot in the Women’s Basketball Coaches (WBCA) Poll, to 14th after holding the No. 15 slot a week ago. Limestone moved up three spots to seventh, while Columbus State occupied the 13th slot.

The Trojans received 16 votes in this week’s Media Poll, up from 10 a week ago, and remains the lone South Atlantic Conference representative in the poll. Anderson joins fellow Southeast region teams Limestone (No. 1), Columbus State (No. 14) and Clayton State (No. 22) in the poll. The Lady Lakers make their first appearance in the top-25, while Georgia College fell from the 24th spot following last weekend’s loss at Columbus State.

Anderson will be looking for its third consecutive win when the Trojans visit Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 13. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Tex Turner Arena.
