The Anderson University Playhouse will present Doubt, a Parable, which won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize, a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for Most Outstanding New Play, February 20-23 in the Belk Theatre of the Rainey Fine Arts Center. Performances will begin at 7:30 each evening with a 2 pm matinee on Saturday 23.

Written by prolific playwright John Patrick Shanley and set in 1964 in the fictional St. Nicholas Church School in Bronx, New York, the powerful drama centers on the contentious relationship between the parish priest, Father Flynn, and Sister Aloysius, the principal of the school. Their conflict reaches a crescendo in the accusation of impropriety by Father Flynn, and the audience is forced to weigh the evidence and deal with its own “doubt.”

Doubt stars Jessie Davis as Sister Aloysius, Josh Taylor as Father Brendan Flynn, Lindsey Salvas as Sister James and Arielle Coulter as Mrs. Muller.

Tickets, which costs $10 for general admission, can be purchased by calling the Rainey Fine Arts Center box office at (864) 231-2080.
