Professor Giovanni Calise led the Anderson University College of Business-hosted event, which marks the culmination of a semester-long journey in which marketing students transformed classroom theories into practical, market-ready product concepts.

Over the course of the semester, students engaged in extensive market research, identifying unique gaps in the marketplace. Their findings were then developed into viable product concepts, which gave them the opportunity to pitch to a panel of industry professionals. This year’s panelists, which included Jacqueline Mundy from Strategic Cardinal Marketing and Britton Briley from Ghost Brands, provided valuable feedback and industry insight to the aspiring entrepreneurs.

The highlight of the event was the presentation by the Seek First team, who emerged as the winners of this year’s competition. Their innovative product, details of which are under wraps until further development, was praised for its creativity and market potential.

Professor Calise expressed his pride in all the participants, stating, “Our students have shown remarkable dedication and ingenuity in turning their ideas into potential business opportunities. The AU Shark Pitch is not just a competition, but a platform for our students to apply what they have learned in a real-world setting.”

The College of Business at Anderson University continues to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, preparing students not only to enter the market but to transform it. With another successful event completed, the university looks forward to what its future business leaders will accomplish next. Visit them online.
