A passion for equipping the next generation of business leaders and fostering in them a commitment to service is at the heart of a new master’s program being offered by the Anderson University College of Business.

Starting with AU’s fall, 2018 semester, the Master of Organizational Leadership is a 10-course program that can be completed in as few as 15 months, allowing adult students the opportunity to finish their degree quickly and affordably while developing leadership skills that put people and purpose first.

Effective leaders who guide organizations with a servant’s heart are in short supply, said Steven Nail, Dean of the AU College of Business

“There is an old adage: ‘Employees don’t leave companies, they leave managers.’ In today’s business world, the skills we teach at Anderson University are found in highly rated leaders whose workplace guidance results in higher productivity, greater levels of employee engagement and overall business success,” Nail said.

Five courses come from AU’s highly regarded MBA program, combined with two electives and three specific to organizational leadership.

Nail said the program is specifically designed to train students in all aspects of leadership, from the practical to the conceptual.

“Students will have a much improved level of business acumen upon completion of the program,” he said. “They will also have a solid understanding of what it means to be a servant leader regardless of the role or circumstances in which they find themselves.”

And for those already in leadership positions, the Master of Organizational Leadership program is the perfect way to progress in their career, Nail said.

“Regardless of where they start from a leadership perspective, students will be better equipped to lead their organization,” he said. “Graduates will also be better suited for advancement opportunities and compensation increases after completing the program while fostering a more loyal, committed and engaged workforce.”
