Dr. Carol Archuleta, dean of the Anderson University School of Nursing, was recognized by the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing for excellence in leadership.

The Gamma Mu Chapter noted her contribution to the society while presenting the certificate of recognition. The award honors her achievement in nursing practice and academic performance.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to receive a certificate of recognition from the board and members of the Gamma Mu Chapter of Sigma for the work I love and am privileged to do so as dean of the School of Nursing at Anderson University,” Archuleta said. “It is especially meaningful to receive this honor from my peers and colleagues in the worthy work we are blessed to do in our service in the nursing profession.”

Membership to the prestigious society is granted by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and exhibit exceptional achievements in nursing, said Dr. Donald Peace, dean of College of Health Professions.

“I have been a member of Sigma since 2002 and wholeheartedly support the organization’s mission to advance world health and celebrate nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership and service,” Archuleta said.

“Dr. Archuleta truly represents and upholds the mission of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing,” Peace said.

He said Archuleta’s recognition is an example of Anderson University’s commitment to continuous quality improvement and to servant leadership in and outside of the classroom.
