Anderson University is holding a 24-hour fundraising drive meant to give all members of the AU family the opportunity to participate in an annual extravaganza celebrating the school’s past, present and future.
“A Day” is one of the most important annual events at Anderson. Its goal is to support students, faculty and campus programs. “A Day” is designed to remember AU’s past, celebrate its present success and impact its bright future by bringing alumni, family and friends together on one exciting day of giving.
“Anderson University continues its rapid growth in large part because of the incredible support we receive from our alumni, faculty, staff and students, along with members of our local community,” said Evans P. Whitaker, Ph.D., president of Anderson University. “A Day is our way of inviting the entire AU family to remain involved with all that is happening across campus.”
Founded in 1911, AU has grown rapidly in the last decade to become the second largest private university in South Carolina. In 2017, the school’s leadership re-instituted “A Day” as a way to invite alumni, friends and family to support continued growth at the university.
For those unable to join in the festivities, AU is encouraging people everywhere to ‘paint the town black and gold’ by wearing the school’s colors, and to post notes on social media using hashtags “ADayToGive” and “TrueToAU.”
