The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) today officially unveiled a new Anderson University license plate now available to state residents who want to support student scholarships and campus enhancements while showing their #TrueToAU pride.
The new Anderson University plate design featured a personalized option, and a portion of the proceeds from each plate supports the Anderson Fund, which provides scholarships for AU students along with campus improvement projects.
“As an Anderson graduate, I am so excited about this opportunity for our alumni, faculty, staff and friends to demonstrate and personalize their Trojan pride and support scholarships for current and future students,” said Anderson University Senior Vice President of Development and Presidential Affairs Wayne Landrith.
Personalized text may consist of any combination of up to six letters or numbers and must be submitted for approval by SCDMV before it will be issued. Blank spaces are counted as a character. The only symbol available to use is the “&” symbol. Tag requests that duplicate a plate already issued to a registered vehicle, that exceed the allowed character limit or contain content that could be considered offensive will not be issued.
The personalized plate is available for $100 plus the vehicle’s registration fee every two years, with $50 earmarked for scholarships and programming.
Alumni, friends and fans will be able to purchase personalized plates by mailing an Application for Personalized License Plate (SCDMV Form MV-96) to SCDMV Special Plates, P.O. Box 1498, Blythewood, SC 29016-0008. Indicate “Anderson University Personalized” on the application.
The “non-personalized” version of the Anderson University specialty license plate is also available for purchase for $70 in addition to the regular registration fees at this link.
