In support of the effort to keep our campus healthy and safe, today we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel Homecoming and Family Weekend 2020, originally scheduled for October 2-4.
In place of Homecoming and Family Weekend, Anderson University Student Activities will host a series of several smaller, student-centric events to celebrate autumn at AU. Planning for those events are underway and will be announced as soon as possible.
A postponed commencement to honor the Anderson University Class of 2020 still is scheduled for Friday October 2.
We recognize cancelling Homecoming and Family Weekend will come as a disappointment to our many alumni, friends, neighbors, and students. However, as of today the University has experienced very low levels of infection on campus as a result of everyone’s dedicated adherence to our Journey Ahead protocols. While Homecoming and Family Weekend is an important part of our University’s traditions, we don’t want to risk our hard-fought success by bringing together large groups of people.
Remember: small sacrifices now keep us from having to make large sacrifices later.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we ask that you continue lifting Anderson University up in your prayers as we lean on God to guide us during the Journey Ahead.
We are stronger together.
