Proceeds of a debut album from an Anderson-area contemporary Christian musical artist will support Anderson University students participating in mission trips.
Laurie Thompson, who serves as a Journey Coach for the AU College of Christian Studies and the South Carolina School of the Art sat AU, is celebrating the release of her debut album, “Jesus Loves Me – I Love to Tell the Story,” with sales beginning Friday, June 15 ahead of its debut performance this summer for United States military personnel stationed in Germany.
“I am so blessed and thankful for Laurie’s ministry,” said Becky Walker, associate campus minister for women at AU. “Her passion for our Lord Jesus is clear and her music is full of the Spirit…this music has beauty and is deeply moving…so blessed by this ministry.”
Thompson runs Laurie Thompson Ministries, and the album is a compilation of her original songwriting and classic hymns that have influenced her musical career. Thompson grew up in Anderson, South Carolina and has ministered overseas in Moldova, France and Russia as well as performed throughout the east coast of the United States. She’s worked with Joni And Friends Ministries, for William Graham of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and at events with Lysa TerKeurst of Proverbs 31 Ministries and evangelist Junior Hill. All proceeds from this album’s sales, above cost, support missions both locally and abroad-including Anderson University students on mission.
Thompson’s album is available on CDBaby.com, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and other online retailers.
