The City of Anderson is inviting the community to join Anderson University in celebration of A Day, the University’s annual fundraising campaign in support of student scholarships and campus improvements.
Anderson City Council on Monday passed a resolution naming March 30, 2023 “Anderson University Day” and asking members of the community to “share their support of AU on social media, wear their black and gold, and demonstrate that this community is True to AU.”
The resolution, introduced by City of Anderson Mayor Terence Roberts, noted AU’s “commitment to prepare students with both a breadth and depth of knowledge they need not only to be successful in the career of their choice, but to be successful in all realms of life—in family, community, work, and faith.” Furthering that commitment is the reason for A Day, when AU alumni, family, friends and students provide gifts in support of scholarships and campus improvements.
One of the most important days of the year at Anderson University, A Day was re-instituted as an annual event in 2017. Since then, supporters have generously provided nearly $2 million, helping transform AU into the largest private university in South Carolina and one of the fastest growing private colleges or universities in the United States.
