Each summer, Anderson University welcomes Worldview Academy, a camp devoted to spiritual growth among middle school and high school students.
Through engaging faculty from different denominational backgrounds, thought-provoking sessions and a culture of meaningful conversation, Worldview Academy helps students learn to apply a biblical worldview in how they think, how they live and how they lead—whether they are new in the faith or are seeking to grow further in their Christian Walk.
According to camp director Micah Jordan, students participate in small groups and engaging multimedia lectures from Worldview Academy faculty, helping them to apply scriptural principles to how they connect with their community and beyond. Topics covered include reliability of scripture, God’s justice versus man’s justice and servant leadership. Also, camp participants were able to put biblical principles into practice, for example, by going into downtown Anderson to share their faith with others.
Anderson University hosted 96 participants for this year’s Worldview Academy, which took place June 1-6 on the campus. Worldview Academy travels across the country, hosting week-long programs for students ages 13–18. This year, according to Jordan, there are 17 Worldview Academy locations on college campuses across the nation and one in the fall, held on a tennis ranch.
The goal of Worldview Academy is to help students think critically about cultural assumptions and explore how the good news of Jesus Christ can shape their understanding of family, science, politics, work and art.
