NCFCA Christian Speech & Debate National Championship

Housing

Anderson University is honored to host the 2024 NCFCA National Championship! You are invited to reside on campus during the championship by registering for one of our six housing styles. 

Affordable meals are available to all campus visitors in Anderson University’s Culinary Center. Housing options are designed to complement a campus meal plan. Meals can be purchased on NCFCA’s website.

Housing will be available Thursday, May 30 through Saturday, June 8, 2024. On-campus dining options will begin on Friday, May 31. Due to a quick turnaround between groups, late check-out will not be considered.

After reviewing the housing styles, please complete the Housing Request form. Please not that if you request a roommate, you and your roommate must add one another to your individual Housing Request form.

Stringer Residence Halls

$200 per night • 8 beds

Every apartment-style suite is comprised of four bedrooms equipped with bunk beds, two full bathrooms, a common area, and a kitchenette complete with a sink, counter space, and a full-sized refrigerator. 

Heritage Townhomes

$150 per night • 4 beds

Each townhome features two bedrooms with bunk beds and one full bathroom upstairs, plus a half bath downstairs, a common room, and a full kitchen (dishes and cookware not included). A small dining table and chairs are included.

Those opting for this choice must have access to a vehicle and agree to travel to and from campus by their personal vehicle.

Whitaker, Boulevard, Village, Denmark, Pratt Residence Halls

$200 per night • 7-9 beds

Each suite has a minimum of two bedrooms and at least one full bathroom.

Whitaker, Boulevard, Village, Denmark, Pratt Residence Halls

$150 per night • 5-6 beds

Every suite includes at least two bedrooms and a minimum of one full bathroom.

Denmark, Pratt, Rouses, Kingsley Residence Halls

$100 per night • 4 beds

Every suite includes at least two bedrooms and a minimum of one full bathroom.

Village Basement

$50 per night • 2 beds • Females Only

Each bedroom has two beds and access to a community hall bathroom. This building features a large lobby with a TV and seating.

<span data-metadata="" style="white-space: normal;">Airport Shuttle

Anderson University is pleased to offer a shuttle service from and to the Greenville Spartanburg Airport (GSP). The cost is $20 per person, per trip ($40 per person, round trip). The shuttle will run on June 2 and June 8 and will arrive within 2 hours of your communicated arrival and departure times. Shuttle service must be requested 5 days prior to your trip.

Housing

Boulevard and Whitaker residence halls have a shared kitchen in the lobby. These kitchens have limited capabilities and should only be utilized for preparing snacks and simple meals. Tournament guests should not anticipate being able to cook full meals in the residence halls. However, meal packages are available for access to our Culinary Center. Plus, there will be limited retail food options available for lunch and dinner.

Refunds can be requested prior to May 15 by emailing guestservices@andersonuniversity.edu. A $25 processing fee will be charged for each cancelled reservation. Refunds will be processed by June 15.

We are happy to offer retail linens, $20.00 per set, for the length of your stay. The cost will be added to your invoice that will be emailed by May 15. The set includes: pillow + pillow case, flat + fitted sheet (Twin XL), fleece blanket, bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloth.

Each bedroom is equipped with an extra-long twin bed, a 2-3 drawer dresser, a student desk, and a chair. Please keep the furniture in its original position upon arrival.

Laundry facilities are available in each residential facility and are free of charge. Laundry detergent is not provided.

Quiet hours are 10 PM – 7 AM in all resident halls. Traffic, conversation, and social activity through the hallway should be kept to a minimum during quiet hours.

Minors should be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Yes, you can edit your housing form until May 6. To do so, check the confirmation page or confirmation email. Look for a link or button labeled ‘Edit Response’. This link will allow you to modify your submission. If you need to edit after May 6, please email guestservices@andersonuniversity.edu.

AU’s goal is to communicate all housing assignments, along with your invoice, by May 15.

AU has limited refrigerators and microwaves. These will be assigned with priority given in the order that requests were received. This request will be confirmed or denied based on if it’s listed on your invoice on May 15.

he above housing descriptions place residence halls into categories, based primarily on the number of beds you can expect in the space. (As an example, if you are a family of four and happy to sleep among two connected bedrooms, the small suite will be a perfect choice.) You’re welcome to add additional notes to your housing form to specify your desires. Though we can’t guarantee your request can be met, we’ll certainly do our best to place you in the best location for your family.

Meal Plans

Meal plans purchased in advance on NCFCA’s website are discounted. Meals purchased at the Culinary Center front kiosk will be full price. To learn more, visit NCFCA’s website.

Screens around the Culinary Center will mark food with the most common allergens. But, if in doubt, ask to speak to the Culinary Center Manager.

 

Travel

There are a few options that could work for you!

  • Greenville/Spartanburg (GSP): about 45 minutes (PERK! AU will run a shuttle to and from campus.)
  • Atlanta Airport (ATL): about 2 hours
  • Charlotte Airport (CLT): about 2 hours
  • Asheville Airport (AVL): about 1.5 hours
