Fast Facts
I love AU. A piece of my heart will always be here. I completed my Bachelors Degree here in 2008, and my oldest son (then 4 years old) helped me to recieve my degree on our beautiful front lawn. I love the ability to attend worship services, pray, and express the love of Christ to my students. I taught in public school for 16 years and I would not trade that experience for anything; however, teaching here has sparked a new passion in me for teaching and learning.
I wish that students could know how rewarding teaching is as a career.
Golden Apple Award 2014, Middle and High School Teacher of the Year at Tamassee-Salem Middle and High School 2016, Anderson County Soil and Water District Teacher of the Year 2019, Teacher of the Year finalist Palmetto High School 2022
My students make my day enjoyable. I appreciate the energy that they bring to class and that we can pray together and for one another. I also love the support I receive from my co-workers and supervisors.
I am working on my Ed.D in Leadership and Learning. Currently my research focuses on the current science teacher shortage and recruiting new teachers to the field.
