Academic Background
Dr. Patty Hovis is a Professor of Kinesiology at Anderson University. She is passionate about the field of Kinesiology and completed her dissertation on the neuromuscular control, kinematics, and pain involved in manual wheelchair propulsion with an ergonomic hand drive. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida and began working at Anderson University in the Department of Human Performance in 2022.

My classes are designed using active learning to facilitate a classroom that develops and refines critical thinking and problem solving skills in the student. In addition, my classes are to create an environment that will foster curiosity and enthusiasm in the pursuit of knowledge to enhance their decision making skills while incorporating all of this through a Christian perspective.
