Academic Background
Professor Elson spent his 30+ year career as a Security/Technology Management Leader where he successfully lead Security and Technology Teams.He successfully managed onshore and offshore teams responsible for Cybersecurity, IT and BPO Outsourcing. He worked with many fortune 100 companies CISO’s and CIO’s to meet their needs for a multitude of projects. In 2022, he decided to make a carrer change to teach cybersecurity at AU and is happier than ever.

I enjoy teaching about both faith and cybersecurity. Faith is the foundation to everything, so without it, you will consisently struggle. I love showing how academic concepts play out in the business world and I love providing opportunities to students to learn and apply what thery have learned in their future jobs.
Cybersecurity offeres more than just technical careers, they offer careers in governance, risk and compliance. Although you will need to technical knowledge, you can serve in a non-technical role.
I lead the global security team at Accenture for their Business Procerssing Outsourcing group.
I helped start the Faculty/Athletics mentor program at AU.
I love being able to teach what I have worked at my entire career while focusing on students faith at the same time.
