Fast Facts
I teach a variety of classes. A student’s experience may vary due to the content of the course as well as whether it is online/hybrid/seated. I do expect a lot from my students with regard to their mastery of the content, but I like to think I am approachable and always willing to help them understand the material. I try to pair knowledge acquisition with exercising problem-solving abilities. Students will hopefully learn content while also learning how to think scientifically, the latter skill being the most transferrable to other areas of their lives.
I began my AU career hopeful that this was a place where I would fit; where my intellectual strengths were a good match for the rigors of the science department and my faith was nurtured and allowed to grow.
I wish prospective students knew that really learning science requires understanding, not memorization.
I am a licensed physical therapist and am completing a second doctorate degree in bioengineering, focusing on skeletal muscle regeneration.
I find the students to be bright both intellectually and otherwise. They are, by and large, delightful to teach.
My areas of specialty incude human anatomy and physiology and regenerative medicine.
