Christian Life

Missions

The journey inward leads to the journey outward, which is connected to the second greatest commandment – “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). Anderson University is committed to offering our students opportunities to share the love of Christ with others and this witness involves what we say and what we do.

Community Missions

Community Missions at Anderson University exists to provide students with tangible opportunities to love their neighbors, practice local and Kingdom citizenship, and grow in Christ-likeness. These service-learning opportunities are available to all students, faculty, and staff at Anderson University.

AU has relationships with over 25+ non-profits and ministries that are committed to serving those in the Anderson community. Partner organizations include but are not limited to:

Four Dots The Lot Project
Four Dots Hope Missions
Four Dots Asher House
Four Dots Calvary Home for Children
Four Dots Special Olympics/Rainbow Gang
Four Dots Champion Center for Special Children
Four Dots Linley Park Nursing Home
Four Dots Emmanuel’s Hammer
Four Dots Habitat for Humanity

Every month, AU faculty, staff, and students set aside time to serve together. These ‘Group Serve Days’ are a great way to learn about local volunteer opportunities and connect with others. The days, times, location, and sign-ups for Group Serve Days are posted on Instagram.

If you want to individually get connected or mobilize a group to serve together, contact Maddy Woodford at mwoodford@andersonuniversity.edu. She would love to help identify where your gifts and interests might align with the needs of the community!

AU BCM Go Teams

AU BCM GO Teams are available to travel to churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Each ministry opportunity is unique. Some churches have our students lead Disciple Now events for youth groups, but they also engage in multigenerational church wide services. Some are day trips while others involve an entire weekend. Mayson Easterling, Vice President for Church Engagement, oversees this ministry of Anderson University. To have a team at your church contact Mayson at measterling@andersonuniversity.edu.

Community Missions

Through mission partnerships, we offer regional, national, and international opportunities for students to serve. These mission opportunities can range from a weekend, one week, one month, to even an entire summer. Recent trips include Panama City Beach, Los Angeles, Kentucky, Southeast Asia, and England. Anderson University also is developing a disaster relief ministry in which students receive essential training in both the sharing of the Gospel and the discipline of safety for short-term rapid response. For more information please contact James Hanson jhanson@andersonuniversity.edu.
