Anderson University’s Baccalaureate Service is held in conjunction with the spring commencement ceremonies each year. It honors and celebrates graduates by giving them one last opportunity to worship together, seek God’s guidance for their future, and be commissioned to live out their faith as servant leaders.

AU’s Baccalaureate Service is held the day before each spring commencement. It is a time for undergraduate students to worship with their families, to reflect on their time at AU, and to prepare their hearts for graduation. The service also challenges graduates to serve God and others in the next stage of their lives.

Is participation in the Baccalaureate Service required for students?
No, this service is not required and does not replace commencement. However, undergraduate students who are graduating in May commencement exercises are encouraged to participate in this memorable celebration.

Who attends the Baccalaureate Service?
All undergraduate graduates are encouraged to participate in this special tradition, along with their parents and family members.

Do I need tickets for the Baccalaureate Service?
Currently, AU does not provide tickets for the Baccalaureate Service. Family group seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is recommended that families arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the service start time.

What should I wear to the Baccalaureate Service?
Professional attire is recommended for those in attendance. Graduates should not wear their cap and gown for this occasion.
